Katy has been successfully briefing and arguing First Amendment and defamation cases before the New Hampshire Supreme Court for almost two decades, including landmark cases establishing the public's right to access records and proceedings in civil commitment of sexually violent predators; State Police response to youth detention centers; and the right to express an opinion that someone espouses "white supremacist" ideology.

Katy also has over two decades of experience handling employment discrimination cases before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights. She also helps employers and employees navigate human resources and team management issues, workplace investigations, and creation and improvement of policies, practices and handbooks.

A skilled and enthusiastic mediator, Katy received her training and credentialing through the Harvard Mediation Intensive, at Harvard Law School's Program on Negotiation. She serves as a volunteer mediator with the Community Dispute Settlement Center in Cambridge, MA. She has also worked as an impassioned and skilled consultant and facilitator of challenging and high-impact workplace discussions, focused on cultivating employee engagement by addressing factors that inhibit or accelerate a climate of inclusion and belonging.

Katy has led lunch-and-learn classes for consultants and non-profits on employment law issues, and taught classes on public access to court records through the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications, and the New Hampshire Supreme Court's Committee on the Judiciary and the Media.

A former Assistant District Attorney for Plymouth County, Katy has track record of positive outcomes for clients in a wide range of criminal matters, from illegal searches and seizures, to annulment and expungement of criminal records.

She is dedicated to promoting equity and excellence in education, and serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at the South Shore Charter Public School. She formerly served on the Board of Trustees at the Inly School in Scituate, Massachusetts and the Union Leader Charitable Fund, Inc., in Manchester, New Hampshire.
